ROTLICHT FESTIVAL FOR ANALOG PHOTOGRAPHY

 

 

This year’s ROTLICHT Festival will highlight Roger Ballen and his work in the “Festival Selection” at the Prospekthof of the Atelierhaus der Akademie der bildenden Künste in Vienna. Based in Johannesburg since the 1970s, Ballen’s stark black-and-white photography captures the marginalized white South Africans of the late Apartheid era, resonating with this year’s theme, “Outsiders.” In addition to the festival exhibition, he will showcase his work at the Leica Gallery Austria and participate in a talk session during ROTLICHT 2024.
