Esra Gülmen (1986, Istanbul) is a Berlin-based visual artist and designer working as a design executive officer at Ogilvy Germany.

 

After graduating from Marmara University Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Interior Design she worked as an assistant professor, taught basic design at the same faculty. After 3 years of working as an academic, she moved to Germany and started her new career as an art director and designer at Ogilvy Frankfurt. Then she continued her career at Ogilvy Amsterdam as an Art Director and 4 years as a Head of Design at Heimat Berlin.

 

A member of the Art Directors Club Germany, she was selected to the list of “200 Best Illustrators Worldwide” four times in a row by Lürzer’s Archive Magazine. The artist, inspired by human psychology and the small struggles of everyday life, sees her art practice as a form of self therapy.

 

Esra, who has taken part in many group shows, has opened three solo exhibitions so far in Amsterdam, Hamburg and Berlin. Her latest works are featured at the Pilevneli x König Kaplankaya group exhibition.
