Becoming an Activist

Thomas Mandl was born in Munich in 1990 and started taking analog photographs when he was 16. After finishing high school he decided to study Geography and Politics. In parallel to his studies he began working in fashion photography, and as a filmmaker in Stockholm.

Since 2016, his focus lies on own reportages, and on activist, politically motivated projects. Within the last three years, he has developed several own political and social projects, reaching the desired people and institutions with huge project audiences and international impact.

Thomas is the founder of “What Else Europe” and inventor of the “One World Flag”. Most recently he was part of the successful campaign #2605 in Germany, motivating young people in Germany to vote in the European Elections in May 2019.
