Kinetic Light Workshop: Behind lichterloh’s Praterstrasse Club Sculpture

 

Join our workshop to discover the creative process and technology behind the state-of-the-art kinetic light sculpture at Praterstrasse Club by the artist collective lichterloh.

 

In this workshop you’ll not only uncover the intricacies of how to plan and set up a kinetic light installation, but also explore how to orchestrate analog motors with digital LED pixel strips to create a stunning club show. Dive into the challenges of creating interfaces which get the most out of your installation and explore the delicate balance between soft- and hardware in this kind of installation.

lichterloh, a Vienna-based artist studio, blends digital tech, space and light to craft stage sets, video art, live visuals, and interactive installations. They’ve performed globally with artists like Dixon, Tiga, Kruder & Dormeister, hvob and at events including Sonar Barcelona, Mutek Tokyo and ARTE Concert Night Paris. They did projections on the Great Wall of China and exhibited at institutions like Austrian Cultural Forum NYC, Festival of Tolerance Zagreb and Ars Electronica Center Linz. Their work is in the permanent collections of the Jewish Museum Vienna, the Dorotheum Vienna and the Francisco Carolinum Linz.

 

Attendance of this workshop is for festival ticketholders only. 5€ is a Cover fee that includes Water/Snacks.
