The MAK Vienna once again becomes the hotspot for modern poster design. The exhibition 100 BESTE PLAKATE 23: Germany, Austria, Switzerland showcases the most innovative trends from the DACH region, setting benchmarks for graphic design in Europe. Out of over 2,300 submissions, an international jury selected the 100 most creative works—including four standout pieces from Austria.

Featured Highlights from Austria

Highlights include: Daniel Gascón Kovács captured the frosty atmosphere of the “Kältetelefon”, a Caritas initiative, with a refined monochrome design. Alumni of the University of Applied Arts Vienna, Jakob Mayr and Kilian Wittmann, created extraordinary furniture collages for the VIENNA DESIGN WEEK. Lukas Hoffmann, a student of the University of Arts Linz, translated the emotions of the short film Echo into a deeply resonant poster. Meanwhile, Verena Panholzer, creative art director of Vienna’s Studio Es, impressed with a clever campaign addressing AI and copyright.

 

 

Next Tour Stops of the Awarded Posters

After Vienna, the winning posters will tour cities like Bern, Lausanne, Zurich, and Seoul. For those looking to delve deeper, the exhibition catalog (Expect Nothing—Appreciate Everything), designed by Studio Es (Vienna), is available at the MAK Design Shop.
