Heya hope everyone is holding up and stuff. I am having a bit of trouble with adjusting my mind to this self isolation thing but it will turn out okay ofcourse. These are the first 10 pages to a longer comic i'm making. Inspired by mmorpg's like Runescape, Maplestory maybe some Isekai manga. Arrests and convictions of all individuals involved in lynch mobs and all acts of hate, an end to police brutality and murder of black people and massive massive change to a dangerously unjust justice system. As @zorasc says to me it ain’t even close to being a justice system… it’s system of destruction.

Yoruba’s say “Orisha bi Iya kosi” it means “ there is no God/Orisha like a mother” We also say “Iya ni wura” which can be translated to mean a mother is gold. The forgoing underscores the value and importance Yorubas place on Motherhood. This piece pays homage to the Yorúbá culture/Ife arts— the lines on the face are not designed to disfigure, but to contain and express the energy beneath the skin, carrying it to the surface as a beauty to behold. The masks drawn on the body represent energy and ancestral spirit; they carry power, blessings, and a supernatural connection between mother and child. The heart on the mother’s cheek is the love for her offspring till death and much longer. The mammary glands, and the connection through the child’s hand illustrate how she gives life, knowledge and extraordinary love to the child. Mothers are healers, and as the Yoruba saying goes, “Iya ni wura iyebiye Ti a ko le f’owora” ”Mother is a precious gold that cannot be purchased with money” The wisdom of our past cultural and artistic traditions helps to illuminate the future, so we can reimagine and improve upon it. #sacredartoftheori #mixedmedia #happymothersday
