VALIE EXPORT

Hurry to see the feminist legend’s work. ‘Oh Lord, Don’t Let Them Drop That Atomic Bomb on Me’: tubes hang from the ceiling, galvanized organ pipes dangle like stalactites from above, others cast slender, pointed shadows onto the glass walls. The sound sculpture for the Kunsthaus Bregenz revisits this notion and updates it in terms of the current political agenda – the urgent desire for peace.

Edible, Beautiful, Untamed

Photo: Leontina Berkova

Kunsthalle Bratislava is very happy to announce a new solo exhibition of the Czech sculptor Anna Hulačová curated by Tjaša Pogačar. The main protagonists of the exhibition aren’t human. This is a world of modified organisms and machinery – giant vegetation, hybrid insects, and mutated agricultural equipment. Heavy concrete objects with shapes reminiscent of engines are adorned with intricate ceramic vegetal growth.

Baby better have my menstruation. I ain’t no museum

Films and a trailer by and with accomplices. Film portraits and a live feed as a tribute to collaboration itself. Anna Spanlang’s light-footed and hip exhibition intervention is laid out as a fragmented montage in the Kunsthaus. Over it all hovers a great democratic task: the instruction for empathy.

Mining Photography
