Every month, the Forward Calendar brings you the most important events from our community. In contrast to regular event calendars, we don’t just collect an innumerable amount of exhibitions and conferences taking place in Austria, Germany and Switzerland. Dance Contest | Rhythm is a Dancer

This dance contest takes place during the Impulstanz Festival in Vienna, it’s free and accessible for everyone. Dancers of all levels, all ages, all styles are invited to dance-battle for one of the much sought-after prices. The challenge is not only to entertain the audience and the jury, but also to react spontaneously to the music by DJ Worst Messiah.

ARTIST TALK: ALAIN BELLET – RING THE COWS

The artist and designer Alain Bellet presents his work at this year’s location of the Forward Festival Zurich, the Kosmos. In his work, he looks at the interaction of technology and human behaviour. He explores the essence of home and tradition with 10 modified cowbells. Sounds interesting? Check it out on Wednesday, the 8th of August at Kosmos!

Vernissage of 100 Ways of Thinking

Also, the opening of the exhibition for the science festival “100 Ways of Thinking” takes place at the Kunsthalle in Zurich. Check out the over 50 exhibition pieces from the fields of science as well as art.

Bauhaus Festival 2018

An evening full of contemporary art, theater, music and performance takes place at the Bauhaus in Dessau, Germany. With experimental installations, performances, readings and a wealth of live music by regional, national and international artists, the festival attracts around 5.000 visitors every year.

c/o pop convention

The c/o pop convention will take place parallel to the c/o pop music festival in Cologne on the 30rd and 31st of August. There’s a new theme every day, for example “Exchange & Connect” and “New Talent” on Friday, with speakers like Samy Deluxe, Beat Gottwald and Paula Schwarz.

KONTEXT | Sport and sustainability

How can we fulfil the goal of furthering sustainable living in the products that we design and produce while still being economically viable? Is the sports segment a step ahead in this effort, and can it offer best practice impulses for other industries? Sport and sustainability are the focus of the second annual KONTEXT event.
