Katharina Grosse – It wasn’t us

The paintings of Katharina Grosse can appear anywhere. Her expansive works are multi-dimensional pictorial worlds in which walls, ceilings, objects, and entire buildings and landscapes are covered with bright colors. For the exhibition “It Wasn’t Us” the artist has transformed the Historical Hall of the Hamburger Bahnhof – Museum für Gegenwart – Berlin as well as the outside area behind the building into an expansive image that radically destabilizes the existing order of the museum space.

Norm – It’s not complicated

The name of the Zurich graphic design office Norm is the program. Design rules such as grids, proportions, and modularity characterize the precise solutions developed by Dimitri Bruni, Manuel Krebs, and Ludovic Varone. Their typefaces, books, posters, and corporate designs lead the tradition of Swiss Style into the future. In parallel, the office pursues research projects that explore the limits of visual design: How far can visual information be reduced and still remain recognizable? How many pixel combinations are possible for the same motif? And what dimension would a library have in which all these image variants would be stored? In his first museum exhibition, Norm presents an examination of the most fundamental elements and laws of graphic design.
