Berlin Questions

Berlin questions is an annual, multi-day conference and a platform for transdisciplinary dialogue – providing ideas for structural change and collective action. Since 2017, the conference has made Berlin a home for debate, inviting politicians, journalists and artists from all over the world to address topics of global importance. This year, the conference under the motto “Metropolis – The New Now” will take place in a hybrid format for the first time: both in person at various locations in Berlin and online, via livestream or in a 3D virtual environment.

Berlin Photo Week

Under the motto “Claim the CITY”, Berlin Photo Week is back this summer at a new location, the modern Haubentaucher in the middle of Berlin, to bring us new and iconic artists, international speakers, and a whole new Funplace experience. With speakers like Thomas Hoepker, Evelyn Bencicova and Sven Marquardt at their 2019 event, one should not expect anything less from the Berlin Photo Week 2021.

MISA Art Market

Due to the extended lockdown, the third edition of MISA (Messe in St. Agnes in Berlin Kreuzberg) was postponed to August 10th – 22nd 2021. The fair has established itself as a sales format for emerging art from the primary market as well as for established art from the secondary market. This year, a special focus was put on curated hanging, where works are shown thematically in booths to create contextual connections. The program consists of a diverse selection of artworks by internationally renowned artists.

Alvar Aalto Week 2021

In 2021, the Alvar Aalto Week will take place in Kouvola from August 14th to 22nd, celebrating the rich industrial heritage of the locality. The yearly festival is a vivid urban event organised around themes arising from architecture, design and art as well as from the underlying phenomena in present time, culture and history. Alvar Aalto’s works in Kouvola are a great example of a holistically planned environment and thus make an extremely interesting destination.

dotdotdot Short Film Festival

With hand-picked short films, the festival uncovers cross-connections and points of departure for discourse and further action, and makes the diversity of contemporary short film visible and tangible. dotdotdot focuses on films that take formal, content-related and aesthetic risks, question inscribed codes and explore the range of possibilities in film. Film talks, discussions, workshops and artistic interventions dock onto the film program and open up space of in-depth discourse.
