Forward Session Lausanne

 

 

Forward and MINI Switzerland bring the Forward Session to Lausanne. This evening is all about the topic of “design as a research.” Our three hand-picked experts discuss intersections and separations between those two emerging fields. Media artist Christophe Guberan, co-founder of Studio Banana Key Kawamura and designer Sibylle Stoeckli will speak at the event to share their insights.

“All about the money – talk for self-employed designers” – designaustria

 

Financial auditor Dieter Welbich will be talking about social insurance and taxes for self-employed designers. In two separate blocks, Welbich will inform participants about the insurance and tax system in Austria, the foundation for founders and for designers that have already been in the business for a longer time. He will talk about financial aid and applications opportunities for financial support and what to watch out for, to save money. There will be a question round to finish the session off.

12 views of Venice – ETH Zürich

 

 

The exhibition is a cooperation of ETH Zurich and eta exhibitions, presenting drawings of 37 architecture students of ETH Zurich, University Tsukuba and University of Queensland. The students participated in a program at the Architectural Ethnography Summer School in the Japanese Pavillon, taking place at the 16th Biennale of architecture in Venice.

Curators of the exhibition are Tamotsu Ito and Andreas Kalpakci and the result is a city portraits that redefines our reception and idea of Venice.

#DenkWeiter continuing education program  – designaustria

 

 

As a knowledge center, designaustria regularly offers continuing education programs for designaustria-members as well as non-members. Giving the opportunity to connect with like-minded people, develop skills and knowledge and gain know-how in their design disciplines.

Exhibition Studio100, part 1 – Bauhaus100

 

 

Studio100 is an extraordinary Bauhaus-exhibition on the occasion of the 100th Bauhaus anniversary.

For 100 days Studio 100 presents 100 actors and their works – amongst them artists, designers, architects, civil engineers, performance artists and musicians. The exhibition will present and unite the work of alumni and those currently studying at contemporary design institutions that see themselves in the tradition of the Bauhaus. The project name refers to the irrepressible artistic energy, synergy and creative scope of the last 100 years of Bauhaus.

Part 1 takes place in the Kunsthalle Harry Graf Kessler.

With over 200 photographs as well as 27.00 visitors in the year of 2018, the photoSCHWEIZ is one of the biggest happenings in the field of photography in Europe. The main part of the visual showcase are current works by Swiss photographers,  additionally there is a photoFORUM with talks and lectures by internationally renowned photographers. This year the British photo artist Jimmy Nelson will be speaking.
