Homesick Festival

The Festival presents a series of performances that take place in private homes. Conceived and organized by Vienna-based artist Michikazu Matsune, each edition is joined by several artists from the fields of performance, dance and visual arts. Upon booking, a pair of artists visit your home to perform in person – exploring the environment of private homes as a stage for unique encounters and shared experiences.

18. Best Austrian Animation Festival

Shroomsday, 2022 – Daniel Denzer, Marius Oelsch, Rita Weiss, Alessa Wolfram

Founded in 2011, the competition offers an annual overview of relevant Austrian productions in the field of animation. The festival aims to present animation in the spectrum from art to commerce, from experimentation to narration, in all newly developed analogue, digital and hybrid techniques.

The BAAF! returns to the Filmcasino in Vienna. In addition, the festival plays host to the gallery space Sehsaal with a great exhibition and the ‘Semperdepot’ (studio house of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna) with a symposium focusing on cooperation between students from all over Austria.

Perspektiven des Zusammenlebens: Zur Demokratie

Under the title “Perspectives on Living Together: On Democracy”, the Austrian Democracy Lab and the School of Philosophy in cooperation with Künstlerhaus are organising a symposium lasting several days, which will also be the final event of the Austrian Democracy Lab.

The event offers a stage for reflection and the opportunity for everyone to participate. The symposium will be accompanied by the art project “Democracy and the Senses”. Works by the members of the Künstlerhaus Association Stefan Gyalai and Julia Bugram, an installation by Anna Paul and a scent installation by MUELLER-DIVJAK will be on display.
