Born and raised in Belgrade, Serbia, Boogie began photographing rebellion and unrest during the civil war that ravaged his country during the 1990s. Growing up in a war-torn country defined Boogie’s style and attraction to the darker side of human existence.

His high profiled clients value this unique angle of his work which has been exhibited around the world. Boogie lives and works between Brooklyn and Belgrade.

There was a time when you could only love or hate Benetton ads. There was no in between. This was largely due to the work of Benetton’s Art Director Oliviero Toscani.
&nbsp;
He shifted the communication strategy towards promoting messages of peace and tolerance, focusing attention on social issues such as AIDS, the death penalty, integration and equality. Whether genital calendars, gay and lesbian couples with baby carriages or a nun kissing a priest – Toscani’s advertising campaigns for Benetton provide a topic of conversation. Even by today’s standards, these campaigns are provocative.
&nbsp;
He created corporate images and advertising campaigns for &#8211; among others – Polaroid, Porsche, Esprit, Chanel, Hermès, Inter Football Club and The Italian Red Cross.

The photographer and director knows how to translate humour into authentic and unpolished pictures. Currently based between Berlin and Vienna, Koekkoek toys with the absurdity of the every day life using his highly acclaimed talent for the good, the bad and the ugly &#8211; which is beautiful.

With his roots in Tyrol/Austria, he moved to New York in 2008 to learn at Magnum Photos. Since then he has released award-winning art publications and exhibited throughout Europe, Asia and the US.

How do you keep doing &#8211; keep inspired &#8211; by seeing, feeling and photographing brutally honest moments? What does that do to you, your work and outlook on life? Also he will focus on his new Book that is released the same month of this talk.
