Colorful does not even begin to describe Jim Stoten’s work.

Jim Stoten is an Illustrator, Artist and Musician living and working between Hastings in the UK and Venice, Italy. He splits his time evenly between working on commissions for a wide variety of clients (Moog Synthesisers, The New Yorker, Lush Cosmetics and VanMoof Bicycles) and working on personal projects of all kinds (painting, collage, film and animation).

In Jim’s talk, he will show you how he always manages to find something new in old collected images or sketchbook work. By taking something old and adding something new, a whole new project can emerge. Dive into Jim’s creative process of making something new.

In order to keep his visual language fresh and supple, he also makes music when image making starts to feel mechanical and predictable. Jim has recorded and released a number of albums on bandcamp. His last 2 albums (Lights and The Delightful Interlude EP) were released by Dirty Melody Records.

Jim Stoten will speak at the Forward Festival Vienna in October. Next to him, you will be able to hear Creatives like Foxdog Studio, Erik Kessels, Eva Cremers and many more.
