Frequently asked questions
Are you attending via LIVESTREAM?
Why do I need to reserve a seat in advance?
This time, it is mandatory that everyone in the audience has his/her own reserved seat for both festival days. In order to meet all regulations please do not change your seat within the two festival days and make sure that you have booked your seat in advance.
What do I need to bring in order to get my wristband?
Registration takes place at the main entrance of Gartenbaukino at Parkring. Please bring your ticket, photo ID and a mask with you. The wristband will be issued to you by our staff under strict regulations, please put it on yourself afterwards.
How can I purchase a ticket for Forward Festival Vienna?
Forward Festival Vienna 2020 is currently sold out because we had to reduce capacity at the venue. You can register for the waiting list here and we will contact you.
What does “one way” routing mean?
We put in place a guiding system that reduces contact and makes it easier to keep distance. Please follow the arrows and signs and don’t walk against the flow. When leaving the main stage, please use the exits to the right side and re-enter the foyer through the front door to get to the bar and to the bathrooms (and to the main stage again). Please always try to keep the minimum distance of 1m and pay attention to your fellow human beings.
Can I use any free seat at the main stage?
No. Please use the seat you booked online in advance, it will be reserved for you throughout the two festival days. It’s not allowed to use other seats, even if they’re not taken. The “physical distance” seats that have to be left free at any times are marked visibly. If you have a ticket but haven’t received an email to select your seat, please contact us.
What do I do if I have a ticket but no seat booked in advance?
If you have a ticket but haven’t booked your seat yet, please contact us. If you arrive at the festival with a ticket but no booked seat, we will choose one for you. Please inform our staff to get the number of your dedicated seat.
What are the hygiene measures on site?
Surfaces of doors, door handles, handrails or other objects that are touched frequently are cleaned and disinfected several times per day. Hand disinfection is available in the upper foyer area, at the entrance and at the bar. We ask you to wash and disinfect your hands regularly for at least 20 seconds. There will be sufficient information on site to give you advice on proper hygiene and preventive measures at the festival.
Do I have to wear a mask the whole time while I am attending the festival?
Wearing a mask is mandatory anytime you are not seated. This means in particular when entering and leaving the venue, as well as when using the toilets and at the bar. Since we work with personal seats for the main stage, it is not mandatory to wear your mask while seated, but we recommend it.
I forgot to bring my mask, can I still enter?
Yes, please inform our staff and we will provide you with a mask from our info point.
Will there be food & drinks provided at the festival?
There will be small snacks and drinks available at the bar. As eating and drinking is only allowed when seated, please use your seat at the main stage orb at one of the tables near the bar if you eat and drink. For warm meals please visit the surrounding restaurants who will be happy to welcome you.
Will there be a cloakroom?
Unfortunately we can’t offer a cloakroom due to the regulations in place. Please don’t bring any big luggage or bags and keep your personal belongings with you at all times.
Are there restrictions for international guests?
We have contacted all ticket holders from areas which are currently classified as a risk area by Austrian authorities individually. If you can’t make it due to travel restrictions or other personal circumstances, please contact us asap via email@example.com.
What should I do if I don’t feel well?
If you don’t feel well or even sick before the festival, we kindly ask you to stay at home and rest. You can return your ticket in the event of a no-show due to illness or keep it for next year. Please contact us if you cannot come, together we will find the best solution for you. If you start to feel sick while at the festival, please inform our staff immediately and follow their instructions.
Is it possible to buy tickets on site?
Unfortunately there will be no possibility to buy tickets on the day of the event. Tickets are personalised and only sold online. Due to the reduced number of seats, the festival is currently sold out. Since tickets become available from time to time, you are welcome to put yourself on our waiting list and we will contact you if there are tickets available.
I can only attend on one day of the festival. Can I give the ticket to a friend for the second day?
Full festival tickets are transferable, but NOT shareable. If you give your ticket to a friend before the festival, we will put down his/her data at the registration (please bring your ID!). Once you exchange the ticket for your wristband, the ticket can’t be used by any other person.
Where can I sign up for workshops?
Some of our workshops have a limited capacity of participants. You need to sign up in advance to snatch one of the spots. Last minute places will be available 15 minutes before the start of the workshop at the location. You can find all the information on how to sign up at the detailed description of each workshop. The Viennese Gartenbaukino owes a special place amongst Vienna’s cinemas. Built in 1960, the cinema exudes the generosity and self-confidence of a classic premier venue. With its impressive 115 square meter big screen and 736 seats, it is Austria’s largest cinema.
Located at the heart of Vienna, lavish and with a wonderful flair, the cinema combines the benefits of a great atmosphere, with the qualities of a diverse and changeable venue.
